Top 5 Reasons Why Applications Are Denied
All required information not being submitted. All sections of the Inspection Experience Profile must be completed. Failure to complete all sections of the form will delay your application until completed forms are received at the CESSWI, Inc. Administrative Office.
Read all instructions carefully. This is the biggest mistake applicants make is not reading and following printed instructions or having someone other than the applicant themselves fill out the application. NOTE: The Applicant should be the one to completely fill out the application to be submitted.
Under Employer Information, line number 29, Employment Dates (include from and to dates). This information is crucial to getting your application approved. Please include prior related work experience to cover number of years of experience you wish to cover for qualifying work experience.
You must provide a completed page 3, “INSPECTION EXPERIENCE PROFILE” form for each job (employment position) that you wish to report Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspection Experiences. Make copies of this page as needed.
Please read Profile Instructions very carefully. Pay particular attention to number 36 Erosion, Sediment and Storm Water Inspection Experiences. Be sure to provide the percentage of time that you spent performing the listed skills/abilities/knowledge. The grand total of all the items must NOT add up to more than 100% of your time.
Remember, the purpose of the Inspection Experience Profile is to allow members of the Application Review Committee (ARC) to accurately assess your qualifying work experience.
CESSWI, Inc. policy specifically states that no more than two (2) references should be coworkers. By coworker, we mean individuals that work in the same office that you do. If all addresses and phone numbers are listed as the same, it will take time to contact these references to verify if or not they work in the same office that you do.
Good sources for references (outside your company) are clients and colleagues in other companies that you work with.
It is critical that your references be familiar with your expertise. Select reference that meets these criteria even if none of them is a CESSWI, CMS4S, CPESC, and CPSWQ.
Let your references know that they may be contacted by CESSWI, Inc. regarding your application. If they are unable or unwilling to provide information, select a different reference.
Applications that are received without the proper fee are not processed. If your check is returned due to insufficient funds or if your credit card will not process, we will suspend processing on your application.
Please include all relevant information in your application before submitting into our office. Many applicants are finding that applications are being denied due to instructions not being followed. Individuals who have had their applications submitted by other staff members are calling back into our office requesting our consideration to allow for additional work experience (not submitted with the original application) to be submitted, included and considered as qualifying for approval to continue with the exam process. THIS ACT CAN DELAY THE APPLICATION PROCESS INDEFINITELY OR DENY THE APPLICATION PERMANENTLY!
Once information is filled in and page #1 is signed confirming that all information in support of this application is correct and true to the best of your knowledge and the application is submitted into our office; it is difficult to get an application out of a denial status once the application has been reviewed and you have received the result of your submitted application.
