Role and Responsibilities of Area Representatives
Area Representatives are the CESSWI, Inc. representatives at the local level (typically state or province). They provide the link between Regional Council Representatives and CESSWIs, CPESCs, CPSWQs and other individuals interested in the CESSWI program within their local area.
Area Representatives are expected to stay up-to-date on the CESSWI program including qualification requirements and professional development requirements. Area Representatives should maintain contact with the CESSWI Administrative Office and Regional Representatives and take the initiative to promote the CESSWI program at appropriate opportunities. They should identify themselves and their locale as contacts for information about the CESSWI program in appropriate public gatherings. They should assist the Council Regional Representative in providing the Exam Reviews and facilitating the proctoring of the Exam.
To maximize their effectiveness, Area Representatives should actively participate in state and regional chapters of related organizations (such as the International Erosion Control Association (IECA) and the Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS)) to promote CESSWI and related continuing education.
